March News

Spring is right around the corner, even though it’s still cold and wet outside. The studio is nice and warm, so if you need a little heat, you know where to go. We’ve got you!

This month, we’re really excited to bring prenatal yoga to our studio. Along with kids yoga, prenatal yoga confers the amazing benefits of yoga to a whole new population of practitioners.

Yuko and Ginger will host a special Yoga Nidra and Sound Bath event to celebrate the Spring Equinox; Happy Hour will take place at the Uptown Espresso; and, the Intro Series is returning in early April.

March 22 (Fri) (SPRING EQUINOX YOGA NIDRA & SOUND BATH with Yuko & Ginger

Come celebrate our transition into spring with gentle flows and poses that help with momentum, and balance the kapha or strong grounding tendencies of this season. Likewise, the theme of this evening’s Yoga Nidra is “rising” after laying down deep roots. Ginger’s Sound Bath will be playing throughout, gradually transitioning into a full Sound Bath during an extended Savasana.

Hello Summer

SUMMER SCHEDULE 8/1-9/4

From August through Labor Day, our studio will be running on a 2-part summer schedule (8/1-8/20; 8/21-9/4) so that we can all take a little time off during yoga’s slow season, and make space for individualized private lessons and healing arts. (Don’t worry -- we will return to our full schedule -- plus more! -- in September. Stay tuned for more information on that in our Fall newsletter)

Scroll below to see which classes will be taking a summer break. Some of the classes that weren’t online will have a virtual option during this time so that you can join us from afar while you’re away.

DISCOVERY PARK YOGA 7/30 SUN 1-2 PM

We are holding our first Free Yoga for All at Discovery Park this Sunday. This all-levels class will take place in the big open area east of the Visitor’s Center. No need to sign up; just show up with your mat, friends, (food, if you want to turn it into a picnic later!) and an open heart! Feel free to register online through our booking site if you’d like to receive a reminder.

Early Summer Greetings

So much can happen in a year!

A year ago today, Ginger and I were putting finishing touches to a website that was soon to go live, and prepping the studio for a (Re-) Opening Party. We weren’t certain how the studio would be received amid COVID uncertainties, which is why we were so excited when we saw many of you return or discover us after our official June 1 opening! On behalf of our team of teachers and healers, THANK YOU for supporting us throughout the past year. Your strong positive energy continues to fuel our mission to bring yoga and healing arts to the community!

SPECIAL SUMMER PACKAGE!

Keep your practice going this summer with a 24-class package, now yours for $288. You can use it for all classes on the regular schedule — including Yoga Nidra and Sound Bath — throughout the summer until Labor Day. The package is available until June 30; the pass itself will expire on Labor Day, used or not. It’s one of the best deals we have at $12 a class.

SEPTEMBER 2022 Mini Newsletter

Have you ever wondered who your yoga buddies REALLY are besides just a group of people with whom you practice yoga? Well, wonder no more! We are holding our FIRST coffee social this Friday at the Uptown Espresso from 3-5 pm! Our plan is to meet on the 3rd Friday of every month just to connect over a cup of tea or coffee. We have known some of you for years, but mostly in the yoga studio context; we would love to get to know you beyond the yoga mat.

If you’ve seen our flyer or social media, you may have already noticed that Heather Lapierre has joined our studio as our Reiki expert. We are so excited to have her! She moved here this year from California with her family, and lives in Magnolia. Reiki is a healing technique that uses the body’s energy to promote relaxation, and reduce stress and anxiety. Heather is now accepting clients. You can book in a pre-scheduled slot on Mondays through our website or contact her directly for alternate days. Follow this link to learn more about Heather and the power of Reiki!

Some of you have asked about what to do after your Unlimited Summer Yoga Package expired on Labor Day. Our most cost effective option is Autopay ($139) if you plan on attending 2x a week or more. We offer 4-class and 8-class passes in different price tiers, as well as unlimited monthly yoga. There are a lot of choices! Please check out our pricing comparison charts for more details and a helpful breakdown.

SEANNA!

Last but not least, we are really thrilled to welcome Seanna Browder to our team this fall!

Seanna has been teaching yoga in Seattle for over a decade and is very excited to be sharing her gifts through our studio. During Covid, she studied with Tias Little and Prajna Yoga in Santa Fe, New Mexico, thanks to the wonders of Zoom.

She says, “I am so looking forward to getting back in the studio and teaching students. I think Magnolia Yoga and Healing Arts provides a supportive and safe environment for all.”

We are so excited for you to take her classes. We know you’re going to love her!

Seanna will be teaching Hatha Yoga on Monday nights and Yoga Fundamentals on Wednesday mornings, starting Sep. 6.

Our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and your dedication to this practice. Thank you all so much. We welcome your questions and feedback — whether it’s different time slots, classes, workshops, or other healing modalities you’d like to see more of. Please don’t hesitate to reach out — we strive to be your neighborhood sanctuary, a safe space for you to find your center, your peace.

May the remaining weeks of summer continue to brighten your days.

Peace and Light,

Yuko and Ginger
